The next meeting of Azerbaijani, Georgian and Turkish foreign ministers will be held in Turkey’s Kars city, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Feb.19 at a press conference on the results of the third summit of the three countries’ foreign ministers.
Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, Elmar Mammadyarov, Maia Panjikidze and Ahmet Davutoglu signed a declaration on Feb. 19 on the results of the ministers’ summit in Ganja.
The meeting was held behind closed doors.
It is the third meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
Bilateral meetings of foreign ministers’ of the three countries were also held today in Ganja.
The last summit of ministers was held in March 2013 in the Georgian city of Batumi.
The meeting will be held in late 2014 within the events related to the opening of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at the press conference.
The opening of this railway in a shortest time is important, as NATO intends to use it for withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan, according to the minister.
The earlier the railway is commissioned, the more economic benefit it will bring to the region’s development, Mammadyarov said.
