The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has issued a warning against anticipated sharp weather deterioration in Azerbaijan.
The ministry’s press service told APA that the weather in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula will begin to deteriorate in the evening of January 7, being followed by strong north wind, and from January 8 to 10 intermittent precipitation, mostly snow and sleet, is expected to fall.
On January 8, the temperature will drop by 10-12 C compared to the previous day; around 0 C during the daytime, -2 C toward the evening. On January 9, the temperature will be around 0 during the daytime, and -4 C on the night of January 9-10.
In Azerbaijan’s regions, this process will start with western regions in the second half of January 7. On January 10, intermittent precipitation – snowfall and sleet – with occasional intensity, is predicted. West wind will gain strength mostly in Kura Valley regions. The temperature will drop, and roads will be covered with ice.
