Speaking about the EU’s position towards the Armenian forces’ large-scale exercises in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the member of European Parliament, Mr. Amjad Bashir, said as follows:
“I believe that the EU should have a position. I don’t think that any border changes should be allowed, especially militarily. Why the violation of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the annexation of its territories by neighboring states, by forces or by break away from Azerbaijan, we shouldn’t condemn? I think this is wrong. A solution should be found by sitting down and talking. If there are language issues, or ethnic or cultural reasons we should talk about it, within the concept of national state. In the 21st century it’s wrong that we resolve problems by war and arms, and that we are guided in this way. This should be resolved with the people of Azerbaijan, and the Armenian people should sit with Azeris to resolve this conflict”.
