Panahov said polling stations were opened at 08.00, APA reports. He said the process was watched by the international observers. Panahov said 7 candidates run for the elections.
The CEC chairman said polling stations would be open until 19.00 and no one has a right to interfere in the voting process. He urged the mass media and individuals to inform the CEC about any disappointment. “We will take measure immediately to solve the problem”.
The CEC chairman wished the voters to be more active. Panahov noted that preliminary results of the election would be announced at about 22.00 on Wednesday. “The preliminary results are not the official results. The official results will be announced after the protocols of the district electoral commissions are submitted to the CEC. According to the Electoral Code the official reports should be announced within two days after the voting”.
