The Malaysian Embassy has today officially opened in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku.
Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak attended the opening ceremony accompanied by Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov.
Speaking to the opening ceremony, Malaysian Ambassador Dato’ Roslan Bin Tan Sri Abdul Rahman hailed diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia.
“Malaysia today starts its official activity in Azerbaijan,” he said.
He said there was mutual interest in and potential opportunities for boosting cooperation between the two countries.
The Malaysian Prime Minister said his government praised the opening the Embassy in Azerbaijan. He added that the Malaysian Ambassador would serve a three-year tenure in Azerbaijan, expressing confidence this would be beneficial for both countries
The Malaysian Prime Minister and the Azerbaijani FM viewed the office building of the Embassy.
