Latvia’s Transport Minister Anrijs Matiss is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
Latvian Embassy in Azerbaijan told APA that Anrijs Matiss will meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ziya Mammadov and Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Minister Kemaleddin Heydarov today.
Latvia wants to increase the volume of Azerbaijani goods transported to the European Union, using the country’s infrastructure, including port services and positive experience in rail freight transportation. These plans will be discussed during the visit. The sides will also discuss the need for increasing the number of quotas for international freight transportation by road.
Latvian Minister’s visit will end on January 17.
