Leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) Kemal Kılıcdaroglu has issued a statement on February 26 – the 22nd anniversary of Khojaly genocide, APA reports.
He said that CHP won’t forget this sorrowful page of the history and won’t let it to be forgotten.
He condemned this genocide and said that he supports Azerbaijan and its people: “An inhuman incident took place in Azerbaijan 22 years ago. Khojaly massacre lives in our minds. Armenian armed forces entered the city on the night of February 25-26. 613 civilians, as well as 63 children, 106 women were killed atrociously, 487 were wounded and 1275 were captured. CHP won’t forget Khojaly genocide and won’t let it to be forgotten. We will support just struggle of the Azerbaijanis. CHP will continue to do its best to prevent recurrence of such incidents and restore peace and stability in the region. Let those killed in the genocide rest in peace. We extend our love and greetings to the people of Azerbaijan,” says the statement.
