Ilham Aliyev attending meeting of CIS Council of Heads of State in Kazakhstan

The next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State kicked off in Burabay settlement of Kazakhstan’s Akmola province Oct.16.

 

Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev met Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who is attending the meeting. The presidents posed for photos.

 

Nazarbayev also met other presidents who arrived in Kazakhstan to take part in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State.

 

The meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State was first held in a narrow format.

 

After greeting the meeting participants, President Nazarbayev congratulated Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on his re-election as president, as well as mentioned successful holding of the parliamentary election in Kyrgyzstan.

 

Nazarbayev said that as the chairman of CIS, his country makes efforts to develop the interstate cooperation within this structure.

 

He noted that there is a good platform for discussing the issues related to the multilateral cooperation between the organization’s member states.

 

Touching upon the meeting’s agenda, Nazarbayev expressed confidence that the decisions to be made during this meeting will give impetus to the further development of relations.
