Recognition of Khojaly Genocide is not on the agenda of our party,” Head of Turkey-Azerbaijan friendship group of Turkish Parliament, Member of Parliament representing AKP from Konya Mustafa Kabakci told APA’s Turkey bureau.
Kabakci said he will express his party’s position on the issue in today’s hearing in the Parliament.
“The position is that the world community should be thoroughly informed about Khojaly tragedy, the perpetrators should be punished, February 26 should be marked as a day of mourning,” he said.
To APA correspondent’s question “MHP offered a law on recognition of February 26 as Day of Khojaly Genocide. Will you support this offer?” Kabakci said none of the parties had appealed to him as head of Turkey-Azerbaijan friendship group in connection with this. “That’s why I cannot comment on this issue,” he said.
