President of France François Hollande has congratulated President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of 28 May—Republic Day, APA reports.
The letter says:
“Mr. President, on the occasion of Your country’s national holiday – Republic Day, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency and the people of Azerbaijan. I also want to sincerely thank You for your warm hospitality to me during my recent visit to Baku. I hope Your country, which has left great impressions by immense changes that occurred over the last twenty years, will continue to advance in the way of modernity and prosperity.
The Azerbaijani Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for the first time will allow your country to show its commitment to the values that the organization protects. Over the past years we have managed to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between our two countries. As we noted in our communication during my visit, I wish to deepen and expand this cooperation through specific projects, particularly in the fields of economy, science and higher education.
At the same time, you can be sure that France will continue its active efforts toward resolving conflicts in the South Caucasus by peaceful means. Mr. President, please accept my deepest respect.
