EU must support Karabakh conflict settlement within Azerbaijan’s internationally recognized borders – deputy FM

Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev attended the informal dialogue meeting of Eastern Partnership countries’ foreign ministers in Minsk, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA on July 1.

 

The meeting focused on the future prospects of relations between the EU member states after the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga.

 

Mammad-Guliyev in his speech spoke about the possibilities of movement of persons between Azerbaijan and the European Union, the establishment and development of energy, transport and trade links.

 

Informing about the good governance, ongoing reforms and anti-corruption efforts in Azerbaijan, the deputy FM stressed the effective operation of ASAN service in this regard.

 

The international community, including the EU need to support the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan, noted Mammad-Guliyev on the basis of the UN Security Council resolutions and documents adopted by other international organizations.

 

The informal dialogue meeting of Eastern Partnership countries’ foreign ministers is held in the member states’ capitals. The purpose of these meetings is to exchange views on the state and prospects of development of relations between the EU and partner countries. The last informal dialogue meeting took place in Baku on September 9, 2014.
