“South Ossetia intends to unite with North Ossetia and to join Russia”, said Edward Kokoyti, leader of separatist regime in South Ossetia, APA reports.
He said South Ossetia is insistent to join Russia. “We certainly want to join Russia and we have no intentions to establish united independent Ossetia. Uniting with North Ossetia will be restoration of historical justice, because Ossetian people were divided against its will. Uniting of the two peoples is important for the leaders of both Ossetias.
Division of Ossetian people is not political, but humanitarian problem”. Edward Kokoyti said Western experts suggested him different formula of integration. “Western representatives suggested me to persuade North Ossetian leadership to leave Russia and to join united Ossetia. They promised us that they would recognize our independence early Kosovo if North Ossetia left Russia”.
