The Czech Republic is interested in the development of the existing cooperation with Azerbaijan, Czech President Milos Zeman said at a meeting with Azerbaijani ambassador to the Czech Republic Farid Shafiyev.
Shafiyev presented President Zeman credentials in connection with his appointing Azerbaijani ambassador to the Czech Republic, according to the Azerbaijani foreign ministry said Sept. 3.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on appointing Farid Shafiyev Azerbaijani Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Czech Republic in July.
Earlier, Shafiyev worked as Azerbaijani ambassador to Canada and the country’s permanent representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization.
