Bulgaria intends to import gas from Azerbaijan in 2016, said the Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy Anton Pavlov, APA reports quoting NewsBG.ru portal.
According to Pavlov, Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev will hold talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev within his visit to Baku on September 20.
“As you know, a final investment decision on construction of gas pipeline between Greece and Bulgaria will be passed in autumn of 2014. The construction of this pipeline is expected to be completed in 2016. President Rosen Plevneliev will hold talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on import of Azerbaijani gas to Bulgaria within his visit to Baku on September 20. The gas can be delivered to Bulgaria through Turkey and Greece”, he said.
He also noted that initial capacity of gas transportation mat be 200-300 mln. cubic meters.
