A meeting of the joint Azerbaijan-Iran border commission has kicked off in Baku.
The Embassy of Iran in Azerbaijan told APA that delivering a keynote speech at the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov expressed the will of Azerbaijani and Iranian officials in developing relations between the two countries: “The future of Azerbaijan and Iran is clear and the two countries have no problems.”
Calling the borders between the two countries friendship borders, he expressed his confidence that the solution of border issues will further serve the development of Azerbaijan-Iran relations.
Addressing the meeting, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen noted that the two countries’ relations are developing dynamically. He estimated the Iranian delegation as most experienced delegation knowing border issues very well.
The ambassador expressed hope that the solution of border issues will strengthen Iran-Azerbaijan friendly ties day by day and our people will benefit from these opportunities.
Director General of the International Legal Department of the Foreign Ministry Alireza Jahangiri, who is leading the Iranian delegation, also addressed the meeting.
The meeting will last for two days.
