Azerbaijani president observes new office building of Baku Talents Education Complex

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reviewed the new office building of Baku Talents Education Complex Sept. 10.

 

The development of human capital using rich natural resources of Azerbaijan, which is the focus of global attention, has become a top priority. The president’s attention to education proves that this important element is one of the key principles of the government policy.

 

Thanks to the president’s attention to the development of education, state-of-the-art schools have been built, new blocks for educational facilities constructed in both the capital and the country’s regions in the past few years.

 

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation has strongly supported this government program. Created at the basis of the Azerbaijan International Education Center, Baku Talents Education Complex is one of such educational facilities and attracts attention with high-level conditions and state-of-the-art teaching aids.

 

President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rovnag Abdullayev informed the president about the work done. It was said that the construction of the complex started in August 2013. The facility was built to the highest standards in a short period of time.

 

Baku Talents Education Complex is an international school of the Azerbaijan International Educational Center. There are photo stands reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev’s care for education in the lobby of the complex. Teaching here is conducted in English with Azerbaijani. Literature, history and geography are taught in Azerbaijani. Some 600 pupils will initially receive education at the 1,200-seat complex.

 

The complex offers classes for children of different ages from three-year-olds to pre-school, elementary and secondary school and pre-university students.

 

Pupils of the first four classes and three classes from the 2nd to 8th grades each will have the opportunity to get high-level education here.

 

Teaching at an 80-seat new-type kindergarten is conducted in Azerbaijan and English languages. New methods are used here to teach the basics of mathematics to children aged 3-4.

 

Five-year-olds take preparatory courses for the first grade. There are 30 classrooms fitted with all necessary equipment and teaching aids, a library, a 300-seat auditorium, meetings halls, teachers’ offices, laboratories, an indoor gym, two swimming pools, playgrounds, a canteen, a medical center, computer rooms, and non-educational facilities here. Teaching will be conducted by one teacher and one assistant in all classes. Teachers include foreign citizens with international teaching experience, while assistants are local teachers.

 

A total of 38 foreign and 28 local teachers will be employed at the complex.

 

Curriculum at Baku Talents Education Complex is based on the national curriculum of England and Wales, together with the Azerbaijani curriculum.

 

A student-teacher-parent interactive network was created at the complex allowing parents to receive interactive information about their children’s achievements, performance, behavior, as well as their homework.

 

The fact that the teaching process here is based on a teacher-student collaboration, the application of modern teaching strategies and flexible assessment mechanisms, children’s effective use of information and communication technologies paves the way for increasing the quality of education. The library of the complex has rich collection of educational and informative resources. Landscaping and construction work was carried out in the yard of the complex.

 

Baku Talents Education Complex is a new-type educational institution offering rich international education for talented students both in Baku and all regions of Azerbaijan.
