Azerbaijani first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, chairperson of the first European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva has visited the office of the Operation Committee of the first European Games (BEGOC).
Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov and Chief Operating Officer of Baku 2015 Simon Clegg told Mehriban Aliyeva that high-quality preparations were carried out for the first European Games. They hailed the Games, saying it will open a new chapter in the European history of sport movement and that Azerbaijan is writing first pages of this history.
The first lady visited technology, media and information rooms. She was told that BEGOC involves specialists from 40 countries, with the committee employing a total of 1,000 people including local experts.
Mehriban Aliyeva then chaired a meeting that discussed the preparations for the European Games.
Chairperson of the first European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva gave her instructions and recommendations to those responsible for carrying out the preparatory work.
