President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Lativa Andris Bērziņš held one-on-one meeting, APA reports.
Following this, the Presidents have held a meeting with the participation of delegations.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that this visit will produce good results and Latvia-Azerbaijan relations will further develop: “We have a good cooperation. This cooperation covers almost all spheres. Both our political and economic relations are developing. We also actively cooperate and support each other in the international organizations. There is no problem between the two countries, we should strengthen our joint efforts to achieve the best cooperation. I’m sure that all negotiations and discussions during the visit will pave the way for solution of all issues.”
President of Latvia Andris Bērziņš said they have special interests in the visit.
“Our interest is so great that we have especially ordered a large plane. Before and during the visit I began collecting more information about your country. I studied the development of your country within the past 20 years. This creates a great impression.
Soon we will mark the 20th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. I think that we have already established very good relations in all spheres. We have perfect relations. This paves a way for much closer economic cooperation,” he said.
