Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan mull cooperation prospects

Azerbaijani deputy FM, rector of the ADA University, ambassador Hafiz Pashayev has visited Turkmen capital Ashgabat to attend the opening ceremony of the International University of Humanitarian Sciences and Development here.

Following the opening ceremony, Hafiz Pashayev met the university leadership to discuss prospects of the educational cooperation between the two countries.

The Azerbaijani deputy FM was received by Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov. Pashayev conveyed sincere greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov. Asking to convey his greeting to the Azerbaijani Head of State, the Turkmen President stressed the ancient friendship and neighbourhood relations between the two countries and peoples. He underlined the good prospects for further development of the ties.

The meeting exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of the Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan dialogue.

In his turn, Hafiz Pashayev stressed the significance of deepening trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian ties between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. Touching upon the development of cultural relations Hafiz Pashayev said that the International University of Humanitarian Sciences and Development would create good opportunities for education.

They stressed that the friendship relations between the Presidents of the two countries contribute to expansion of the ties between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan within international organizations.

Hafiz Pashayev also met with the foreign minister of Turkmenistan Raşit Meredow and others.

Azerbaijani ambassador to the country Vahdat Sultanzade also attended the meetings.
