Azerbaijan will present a report on the implementation of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment at the 43rd session of the UN Committee against Torture in Geneva, APA reports quoting UN news center. Moldova, Columbia, Yemen, Spain and Slovakia will also present their reports.
The Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment was adopted unanimously by the General Assembly in 1984. The member states present reports on the implementation of the convention once in four years. The Committee against Torture was established in 1987 and consists of 10 independent experts.
