Azerbaijan is developing infrastructure and pays special attention to youth policy, UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Ahmad Alhendawi said at the First Global Forum on Youth Policies in Baku, APA reports.
“In Azerbaijan, young people are directed to various areas and actions are being taken toward increasing their knowledge and skills,” he said.
The UN envoy said Azerbaijan’s hosting the First Global Forum on Youth Policies is of great importance, adding that the UN welcomes Azerbaijan’s active participation in international events.
Commenting on young people joining the Islamic State and other terrorist organizations, Ahmad Alhendawi said there is a need to invest in youth sphere to allow young people to use their energy advisably.
“We want all countries to attach special importance to this issue,” he added.
