Azerbaijan is modifying the special privileges given to parents who bring up their children alone.
In today’s meeting, the parliamentary Committee on law policy and state building discussed modifying the law on reduced working hours for different categories of public servants.
The phrase “fathers who have raised their children alone up to the age of one year and a half for a legal reason” shall be replaced with “parents who have raised their children alone up to the age of three”.
Under the current law, 36 hours of work per week are meant for public servants of the first and second disability groups, disabled citizens under 18, women who are pregnant or have children under one and a half years of age, men who are raising children under one and a half years of age alone due to a legal reason, and trustees of children.
The draft modification has been recommended for the parliament’s plenary session.
