The State Counselor on Multiculturalism, Interethnic and Religious Affairs Kamal Abdullayev met the Georgian State Minister for Diaspora Affairs Gela Dumbadze and the Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Teymuraz Sharashenidze.
The sides had comprehensive exchange of views on cooperation between the two countries in promotion of education, culture and multiculturalism.
Kamal Abdullayev spoke of multiculturalism and tolerance with deep historical roots in Azerbaijan, underlining that it becomes an internal element of the state policy. The State Counselor highlighted the steps to provide equal treatment for the ethnic and religious communities, present Azerbaijan as an exemplary multiculturalism model to the world, and informed on the activity of the State Counselor on Multiculturalism, Interethnic and Religious Affairs.
Noting the historical and cultural similarity of both countries, Abdullayev expressed confidence that along with the economic ties, the cultural-spiritual relations also promote these relations to be more reliable and unbreakable.
Minister Gela Dumbadze touched upon the historical friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, their current development, noting that the Georgian state pays close attention to the construction of educational facilities and places of worship.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Georgian Embassy.
