Azerbaijan and France have discussed cooperation in the field of migration, the Azerbaijani State Migration Service said today.
According to the report, head of the Azerbaijani State Migration Service Firudin Nabiyev met with French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Monnier.
Nabiyev told the French Ambassador about the Azerbaijani State Migration Service’s activity and its directions and migration processes in the country. He informed the guest that Azerbaijan’s recent economic achievements and the geopolitical situation of the country are attractive for foreign citizens. That’s why the number of foreigners and stateless people arriving in Azerbaijan increased.
Monnier said he will make every effort to further expand relations between Azerbaijan and France during his diplomatic activity.
“We always want to see Azerbaijan as a strong, independent, tolerant and secular country,” Monnier said.
The French ambassador to Azerbaijan has put forward a proposal to establish a working group between the Azerbaijani State Migration Service and the French Ministry of Immigration, Integration, National Identity and Co-development and stressed the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
