Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Bulgaria Emil Karimov has visited Plovdiv, the second-largest city of the country, to discuss ways of developing relations between the two countries.
During the trip, he met Mayor of the city Ivan Totev. Karimov highlighted the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria ties, and stressed the importance of reciprocal visits.
The ambassador said Azerbaijan attached great importance to developing relationship with Bulgaria on all fronts, including among local executive authorities of the two countries.
The diplomat stressed the necessity of establishing relations between Plovdiv and a city in Azerbaijan.
Totev hailed development of bonds between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
He said Plovdiv was interested in establishing ties with a city in Azerbaijan, conducting experience exchange, organizing reciprocal visits and various events.
Karimov also met rector of the Agricultural University of Plovdiv.
The diplomat spoke of the Azerbaijani government`s attention to education, as well as educational relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
Karimov underlined the importance of developing ties between the Agricultural University of Plovdiv and Azerbaijan`s relevant university.
The rector briefed the ambassador on the activities of the University, expressing interest in establishing relationship with relevant Azerbaijani university.
