Posted by Agriculture Minister Ismat Abbasov met with the Minister of Agriculture of Latvia Laimdota Straujuma, APA-Economics reports.
During the meeting, Abasov spoke about current state, indicators, perspectives and development tendencies of agriculture. Touching upon the depth of cooperation between the two countries, the minister mentioned a number of concrete directions, including benefiting from Latvian practice in increasing of productivity of grain growing in Azerbaijan, export of agrarian products to Latvia, import of agrarian products, which are produced less the demand, veterinary and phytosanitary cooperation and etc.
In turn, Straujuma noted that Latvia was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan not only at the government level, but also at the level of entrepreneurs.
Following the meeting, the sides signed agreement on cooperation in agriculture between Azerbaijan and Latvia.
