A law ratifying the Protocol for the Protection of the Caspian Sea against Pollution from Land-Based Sources and Activities (LBSA Protocol) of the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea was adopted at the plenary session of the Milli Mejlis (Azerbaijan`s Parliament) on Feb. 25.
“In accordance with the Protocol for the protection of Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea and coastal territories, the parties acceding to the Convention take all the necessary measures in accordance with the provisions of this document,” the vice speaker of Parliament, Valeh Aleskerov said.
The parties will conduct an information exchange and hold joint events for environmental monitoring in accordance with the document.
