ASAN Service presented in Europe

Conference on “Innovations and Mobile identity in Azerbaijan – new type of digital integration with Europe” was held at the European Parliament.

 

ASAN Service told APA that reforms and other issues related to e-government in Azerbaijan were discussed at the event.

 

The initiator of the conference was member of the European Parliament Kristina Ojuland (Estonia). She welcomed the achievements of ASAN Service and said it is useful not only for citizens, but also for the government. Kristina Ojuland underlined that elimination of bureaucratic obstacles in civil services enables government bodies to avoid additional expenses

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Taxes Sahib Alakbarov noted that the establishment of e-government was started in 2005. Taavi Kotka, the Deputy Secretary General for Communication and State Information Systems of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and communications of Estonia, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of information and communication technologies.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technologies Elmir Valizade spoke about the importance of using ICT in the services offered to the citizens and gave information about the current state of e-services in Azerbaijan.

Co-President of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Evgeni Kirilov and Leader of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group in the European Parliament Martin Callanan shared their views about the issue.

The first session was on the theme “Mobile-ID: connecting people across borders. Cooperation between Estonian and Azerbaijani Mobile-ID systems”. Samira Musayeva, Chief of Head Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Taxes, gave detailed information about “Asan Imza (Mobile ID), underlined that the mobile government is the next stage of the e-government idea.

In the second session, Isbandiyar Aliyev, Chief of Information Society Development Division of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies gave information about the current situation of e-government in Azerbaijan. Azad Jafarli, Head of International Relations Department of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation under the President of Azerbaijan, analyzed ASAN service in the human rights context.
