Armenian Armed Forces violated ceasefire with Azerbaijan 4173 in 2014, excluding the active fire-fights on the front line in the last week of July and first week of August.
According to the results of APA’s monitoring based on the materials confirmed by Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry, in 2014, 1543 ceasefire violations were recorded in January, 258 in February, 229 in March, 212 in April, 260 in May, 344 in June, 414 in July, 332 in August, 103 in September, 253 in October, 452 in November and 533 in December.
In late July, the Armenian Army made sabotage and subversive attempts along the frontline. The military considered the last week of July and the first week of August the most difficult period of the last decade.
A helicopter, for the first time, was shot down on the line of contact of troops after a ceasefire agreement was signed in 1994. On November 12, a Mi-24 helicopter of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, which conducted military exercises in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, was downed while attempted to attack the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the direction of Aghdam region. Consequently, three Armenian pilots were killed.
Last year, the ceasefire was violated most on Fuzuli (1211 times) and Aghdam (1193 times) fronts. Totally, 84 per cent of all ceasefire violations were recorded on Nagorno Karabakh front and the rest on the border of state.
