Under the decision dated 23 July 2015 on the additional measures for the improvement of the traffic movement in Baku of the Road Safety Commission of the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Traffic Police Department have finalized the establishment of free parking lots with all necessary conditions in areas close to the northern and southern entries of the capital.
Head of the PR Department of the State Traffic Police Department, Police Colonel Kamran Aliyev told APA that the parking area at the northern entry to the city is located at the 160th km of the Baku-Guba highway, near Absheron Youth City, and the other parking area at the southern entrance to the city is located at the 14th km of the Baku-Alat highway, near the Lokbatan roundabout.
Aliyev said that the parking lots are fully ready for cars with district registration. At the moment, the construction of dining rooms and utility facilities in the parking area are coming to a close. The parking lots, including their service facilities, will be put into use for cars registered in districts on September 15. Each lots occupie an area of 10 to 12 ha.
Aliyev also said that a land area has been allocated at the Baku-Shamakhy highway near the Mushfigabad village for a third parking lot meant for cars with district registration.
Note that, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Road Safety Commission Abid Sharifov has said that from Sept.15 onwards cars with district registration will not be allowed to enter the capital from 7:00AM to 24:00PM and they will be allowed to be parked in the parking areas close to the northern and southern entries to the city. Cars with district registration can enter Baku from 24:00PM to 7:00AM.
