“The most significant achievement to build new Turkey is implementation of TANAP jointly with Azerbaijan”, said the Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, APA-Economics reports quoting Anadolu agency.
He noted that this project is significant for Turkey’s energy demand and becoming of Turkey a geostrategic country transporting energy to Balkan states and Europe: “Azerbaijani gas will be transported by TANAP to Turkey through Georgia, Totally, 6 bcm of 16 bcm of gas will remain in Turkey, 10 bcm will be transported to Balkans and Europe”.
“Total capacity will increase step by step and reach 31 bcm in 2026. First stage of this project will be completed in 2018. 80% of equipments to be used in this project will be produced in Turkey. We believe that the 21st century will be the century of energy. This project will bring a peace to Caucasus”, he said.
