Azerbaijan`s Deputy FM meets Chief of Indonesian National Commission on Human Rights

Azerbaijan`s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalaf Khalafov has met Chief of Indonesian National Commission on Human Rights Nur Kholis.

 

Mr. Khalafov highlighted developing relations between the two countries, saying Azerbaijan was interested in boosting ties with Indonesia. He said there were fruitful opportunities for cooperation in economic, non-oil field.

 

The Deputy FM provided an insight into history and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He noted international organizations including UN Security Council, had not effective mechanism for solving the conflict.

 

On Armenian vandalism, especially Khojaly massacre, The Deputy FM spoke about efforts of the Government in the international level in expose the occupation policy of official Yerevan.

 

Mr. Khalafov highlighted the resolutions adopted by the parliaments of several countries on Khojaly massacre, as well as the decision of European Court of Human Rights on “Chiragov and others v. Armenia”.

 

Nur Kholis, in turn, said Indonesia eye developing bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of human rights.

 

They exchanged views on regional and global issues.
