A group of 25 Azerbaijani soldiers, who are serving under the NATO-led “Resolute Support” mission launched in Afghanistan, were seen off to Afghanistan on a rotating basis, the Defense Ministry said on October 14.
The peacekeeping contingent of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces has been serving under the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan since November 20, 2002.
Currently, 94 Azerbaijani servicemen, 2 medical officers and 2 sappers are participating in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
