“Ukraine has no any problem in relations with Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani Diaspora in Ukraine also supports this country. We are grateful to them”, Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko said at a round table dedicated to 22 January – Reunion Day of Ukraine, APA reports.
The ambassador said even if there are some Azerbaijanis supporting separatists in Ukraine, it doesn’t reflect the position and will of the Azerbaijani people and Diaspora.
“Such cases cannot affect the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations and high attitude toward the Azerbaijani Diaspora in the country. Among the supporters of the separatists there are Ukrainians and other ethnic groups as well,” he noted.
The ambassador recalled a monument erected in Ukraine to former mayor of Kremenchug Oleg Babayev.
