US Senate to consider Robert Cekuta’s nomination as ambassador to Azerbaijan on December 4

On December 4, the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations will hold hearings on the approval of the nomination of Robert Francis Cekuta as the ambassador to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

 

US President Barack Obama nominated Robert Cekuta, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Energy Resources at the Department of State, a position he has held since 2011, as an ambassador to Azerbaijan. Previously, Mr. Cekuta served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy, Sanctions, and Commodities, Bureau of Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs.

 

The Foreign Relations Committee will also hold hearings on approval of candidates for the post of new ambassadors to Armenia, Macedonia and Montenegro.
