Thorbjorn Jagland, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe will attend the First Global Forum on Youth Policies to be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan October 28-30, Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sports told Trend.
More than 700 participants are expected to join the forum jointly organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Council of Europe, UNESCO, UN Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth and the government of Azerbaijan.
Around 4,705 youth applicants from 174 countries showed interest in participation and 200 of them have been selected to attend the forum. Overall 200 governmental officials will be either in minister or deputy minister level.
Around 200 NGOs’ representatives will take part at the Global Forum in Baku. It is expected that 100 experts on youth policies will contribute to the work of the forum.
The organization of regional meetings and development the exhange programs will be among the main issues at the forum.
A dedicated postage stamp to first ever Global Forum on Youth Policies, held in Azerbaijan, has been created and will be published very soon.
