“Ensuring the efficiency of state administration, developing e-services, and the fighting against corruption are the principal directions of the state policy in Azerbaijan,” the country’s President Ilham Aliyev said in his message to the participants of the conference on “Fight against corruption: international standards and national experiences” in Baku.
The message says Azerbaijan has a strong political will for an effective fight against corruption: “Azerbaijan has joined all international initiatives to combat corruption, is improving legal framework and implementing reforms. Unfortunately, corruption continues to remain one of the pressing problems in all over the world including European countries. Therefore, new initiatives in this sphere are vital. In this regard, Azerbaijan’s practice which rules out corruption and ensures transparency in the state service can be a positive example for other countries as well. I’m sure that this conference, which aims to strengthen national and international efforts in the fight against corruption, will contribute to organizing our work more efficiently and strengthening our cooperation”.
The president’s message was read out by Ramiz Mehdiyev, Head of the Presidential Administration.
