Azerbaijan and Turkey will intensify the exchange of experience in preventing emergency situations and eliminating their consequences, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kemaleddin Heydarov said.
The minister made the remarks in his conversation with Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Bashir Atalay during the 7th ECO International Conference on Disaster Risk Management.
Heydarov stressed that Azerbaijan actively cooperates with Turkey in the international arena, adding that the collaboration in preventing disasters and eliminating their consequences is no exception, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said on June 4.
Atalay said that this international conference is of great importance in the development of relations between the two countries.
He pointed out that Azerbaijan was the first country to assist Turkey during the earthquake in the Van city.
Turkey’s deputy prime minister went on to add that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in preventing the disasters and eliminating their consequences should develop.
