OSCE Parliament Assembly’s delegation headed by the Special Representative on Nagorno Karabakh and conflicts in the South Caucasus Goran Lennmerker visited the Azerbaijani parliament on Friday and met with Vice Speaker and head of Azerbaijani delegation to OSCE PA Bahar Muradova and other members of the delegation.

According to APA, underlining the intensive activity of Azerbaijani delegation in the OSCE PA, Bahar Muradova said the organization would hold its next session in Vienna in few days to discuss the new architecture of the European security.

Muradova informed the visitors about the last presidential elections in Azerbaijan and the Referendum to take place on March 18. She said Azerbaijan seriously concerned about that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict was not resolved yet. Muradova noted that the OSCE and the European countries should be interested in the solution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict as well as they were interested in the energy opportunities of Azerbaijan. “The security is in their interests too. We would like to use the European model in the solution to the conflict”.

Lennmarker highly appreciated the OSCE PA cooperation with Azerbaijan. “The security is important for everybody in our continent. The European security should be architected on the basis of values, but not force”.

The OSCE representative emphasized the recent approach of the South Caucasian countries and Europe and said that these countries should support each other to protect their sovereignty. “Azerbaijan has a great responsibility in this issue. There is a way of solution to the conflict. The conflict should be resolved peacefully. It is not important only for your country”.

The special representative called Armenia a small country with a poor economy. “Armenia must think about the participation in the energy projects more than solution to the conflict. The parts couldn’t reach 100-percent result on the solution to the conflict. Each side should make concession”.

The OSCE representative noted that the OSCE Minsk Group is seeking the neutral and useful solution.
