Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov has received US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta, the ministry told APA.
Congratulating Cekuta on his appointment as the new ambassador to Azerbaijan, K. Heydarov wished him success in his diplomatic activity.
The US ambassador was thoroughly informed about the activities of the ministry’s structures and the work done for prevention of emergency situations and elimination of their consequences.
The parties also stressed the importance of steps taken in order to expand the cooperation on emergency management between the relevant authorities of Azerbaijan and the US.
The ambassador, in turn, noted the importance of expanding cooperation on the prevention of emergency situations between the relevant agencies of the two countries.
Moreover, the parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
