Under the instructions of the Azerbaijani president, amendments to the Family Code on Wednesday were put up for discussion at the meeting of the parliament’s committee for social policy, APA reports.

According to the amendment, the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On modifications to the Family Code” No 1080-IVQD dated 17 October 2014 is to enter into force on 1 June 2015. In this regard, the phrase “from 1 January” is altered with “from 1 June” in article 2 of the law.

Chairman of the committee Hadi Rajabli, who commented on the amendment, said it’s due to the requirement of a medical certificate and that it’s improbable to complete entering the documents required to compile the diseases to be indicated in the certificate into force on 1 January.

The amendment was proposed to the plenary meeting.
