On Sept.7, the Department of International Military Cooperation of Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry hosted a meeting with the participation of 13 foreign military attachés accredited in the country.
Head of the Department of International Military Cooperation Maj. Gen. Huseyn Mahmudov, by the order of the defense minister, informed the foreign attachés about the large-scale command and staff military exercises that were launched on Sept.6 to check the combat readiness of all kinds of troops.
The foreign military officials were informed about the duration and purpose of the exercises, the number of the personnel involved in the exercises, the quantity of the armed vehicles, aircraft and other equipment and systems involved as well as other on this topic.
They were also informed of the current situation on the frontline, the opposite side’s provocations against civilians in residential areas located along the contact line, timely retaliatory actions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the enemy, numerous losses suffered by Armenian armed units, etc.
The military attachés were then reminded of the facts that 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands are under Armenian occupation, the UN Security Council’s resolutions on the conflict remain unfulfilled, the world community is turning a blind eye on this problem as well as the Azerbaijani Army is ready to liberate its occupied lands.
