An armed attack has targeted a police station in Istanbul.
10 people, 3 of them police officers, were injured as an explosive-laden car was detonated at a police station in Sultanbeyli district around 1:00aAM local time. Police opened retaliatory fire at the assailants, APA reported.
Turkish sources say the gunfight is still going on. The terrorist who detonated the car is reported to have died at the scene.
The explosion caused a lot of damage to the buildings, houses and cars nearby.
According to preliminary information, the terrorist attack has been carried out by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
The Istanbul Police Office has said that of the injured one is a deputy chief, two are police officers, and seven are civilians.
