Executive Director of International Association of Prosecutors visits Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Minister of Justice, senator and an honorary member of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) Fikrat Mammadov has met with the delegation led by the Executive Director of IAP, Janne Holst Hubner.

 

Azerbaijan is represented in organization’s governing bodies – the Executive Committee and in the Senate by the effective cooperation with authoritative international organizations, as well IAP, which brings more than 100 countries.

 

Highlighting the closed cooperation of Azerbaijan with the Association, Mr. Fikrat Mammadov stressed the important role of IAP in celebration of the 20th anniversary, in uniting the efforts of the prosecutors of the world in the fight against crime. Azerbaijani minister stressed the visit of the senior officials of the Association, as an evidence of growing interest to the country. He also informed about improving judicial and prosecution authorities, the judicial system, modernization of infrastructure, as well as the large-scale measures on the corruption prevention under the leadership of the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

 

Expressing satisfaction with their visit to Azerbaijan, the guests hailed successful cooperation of Azerbaijan and IAP and praised the dynamic development of the country.

 

The delegation expressed gratitude for the creation of a special Internet network against corruption for prosecutors.

 

The sides also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

 

Kamran Aliyev, Deputy Prosecutor General and Chief of the Anti-Corruption Department under Prosecutor General, attended the event.
