“We want the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to be settled and Armenia-Azerbaijan relations to normalize,” Russian FM Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with the radio channels “Sputnik”, “Ekho Moskvy”, and “Govorit Moskva”.
According to Lavrov, Russia is doing a lot to break the deadlock in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and achieve its resolution.
“We are working together with the United States and France within the OSCE Minsk Group, holding regular meetings with the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers. The Russian president too discusses this issue during meetings with the Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders. There is a chance to find a basis that would suit the interests of both sides. I believe further relations will speed up the settlement of this problem. I think time has already come for a solution to the conflict,” noted the Russian FM.
S. Lavrov also added that Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov will make a visit to Moscow in May.
