The Washington Times publishes collection of articles on Azerbaijan

The Washington Times published a collection of articles on Azerbaijan on January 29.

 

The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan told APA that the authors of the articles in collection titled “A Quarter Century Since Restoring Independence, A Thriving U.S. Ally” includes members of the US House of Representatives Randy Weber, Robert Aderholt, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to the United States Elin Suleymanov, our compatriot Rob Sobhani, well-known researcher Alex Vatanka and editorial board of Washington Times.

 

In response to the question why Azerbaijan matters to the United States, Weber underlined important geopolitical position of Azerbaijan, its contribution to the energy security of Europe, praised our servicemen’s participation within the international peacekeeping forces and cooperation with US forces in Afghanistan. Congressman Weber touched on active strengthening of the relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.

 

Regarding Azerbaijan as a strategic American ally, Robert Aderholt in his turn emphasized the factors of its importance in the Eurasian space. Recalling his visits to Azerbaijan and meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the congressman expressed his confidence that a more stable and prosperous Azerbaijan promises a more stable and prosperous Caucus region.

 

Elin Suleymanov wrote in his article that the people of Azerbaijan persevered and ultimately won the freedom and independent future they sought. He noted that the tradition of ensuring unification of different parts of society continues under President Ilham Aliyev in Azerbaijan that is committed to the values of tolerance.

 

In the collection of articles, Rob Sobhan goes on to mention a number of achievements accomplished by Azerbaijan, a trustworthy ally of the United States, particularly during the presidency of Ilham Aliyev, while Alex Vatanka approaches the matter from a different angle, calling on the US to pursue a more constant policy toward Azerbaijan.

 

This special edition of The Washington Times also provides information to the US society that Azerbaijan will host a historical event like the first European Games, referring to the efforts being made to hold upcoming the Games successfully and giving a brief outline of the competitions scheduled.

 

Furthermore, the edition contains fascinating articles about Azerbaijan’s tourism potential, the Shahdagh Tourism Complex, the town of Tovuz as well as Guba’s Qirmizi Kend village which is inhabited by a Jewish community, and counts 10 reasons that could possibly attract tourists to Azerbaijan.
