Regardless of biased assessments of some external interested circles, the activities of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Azerbaijan is probably the most exemplary in the world, the head of the public and political issues department of Azerbaijani presidential administration, Ali Hasanov said.

He made the remarks Jan. 22 at a conference dedicated to the annual report of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the Auspices of the President of Azerbaijan.

Hasanov noted that no one can say that there was a refusal for allocating a grant in a particular field due to political views, attitude towards the authorities and the position held in society.

“The council members assessed the appeal of each organization, and then allocated a grant to it,” he added.

Hasanov drew attention to the grants allocated by some countries and circles, which today want to teach Azerbaijan in the area of the activity of civil society institutions.

He went on to add that over the years those grants have been received over and over again in the same directions, by same people and organizations, which are used against Azerbaijani state and its interests, when necessary.
