An issue will be raised at the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) about the “court judgment” of the separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh on Azerbaijani hostages Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev, Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, Samad Seyidov told APA.
S. Seyidov said a letter of protest has already been sent to the Council of Europe, noting that the issue of the “judgment” on the Azerbaijani hostages will also be raised during the discussion of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem at the meeting of committees. According to him, the member countries will be demanded to give a strict reaction to and rebuke the illegal trial played by the separatist regime before the eyes of the international community and the “judgment” passed.
“We will as usual put forward our demands based on concrete facts. But what’s important is that we want to see if this organization that we cooperate with approaches this issue with double standards or justly,” he noted.
Note that, on December 19, the separatist regime’s first instance court sentenced Dilgam Asgarov to life in prison, and Shahbaz Guliyev to 22 years in prison.
