The UNDP, the EU and the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan plan to hold different trainings for employees of the relevant government bodies of two countries in the framework of the “Better coordination of protection of the land border between Georgia and Azerbaijan” project, the UNDP said.
The trainings will be based on the objectives of the project’s components.
Taking into account that one of the project components is to create and implement a coordinated action to strengthen the protection of the border between Azerbaijan and Georgia, the first training on the preparation of the project was held on December 18-19 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The training course discussed the international experience on development of bilateral and multilateral agreements on border cooperation, as well elaborate on the effectiveness and enforcement mechanism of these agreements.
International experts of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) hosted the event. The representatives of the relevant state institutions of Azerbaijan Republic also attended the course.
