The main and undisputed result of 2014 is the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in all spheres between Azerbaijan and Belarus, Belarusian ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolai Paskevich told reporters on Dec.17.
He said 2014 was full of significant multi-format events in Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations.
The ambassador said Belarus and Azerbaijan have no problems or differences of views, adding that the two countries support each other in international platforms, as well as during the elections to various international structures.
Paskevich added that the two sides have reached an agreement on cooperation within international organizations in the future.
The diplomat said that all the required intrastate procedures have been completed for the entry into force of bilateral agreements signed on Nov.21, 2013 during the visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to Azerbaijan.
He said the legal framework between the two counties covers over 90 agreements as of 2014.
The cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan in trade and economic sphere in 2014 once again proved the strategic level of partnership between the two countries, said the ambassador.
Paskevich said the priorities of this cooperation are the production cooperation, joint projects in the spheres of science and high technologies, construction, education and health care.
The bilateral trade turnover between the two countries reached $288.3 million in Jan.-Oct. 2014, according to Belarusian State Statistical Committee.
Thus, the trade turnover between Belarus and Azerbaijan has increased by 25.2 percent compared to the same period of 2013, said the ambassador.
At the same time, it should be noted that the two countries haven’t seen decrease in the growth rate of bilateral trade turnover since 2006, Paskevich added.
